  • Is your stock warehoused in Australia?

    Yes. Our in-stock items are warehoused in Ultimo, just 2km from Sydney CBD and are ready to be sent for quick delivery across Australia. The vast majority of orders before 2pm are shipped same day.

    What are your delivery/shipping options?

    For major Australian metro areas we offer next business-day delivery via StarTrack Premium courier, subject to 2pm eastern time cutoff.

    We also offer same-day delivery for Sydney CBD customers. Please note that the order cutoff for same day delivery is 12pm Sydney time and that our same day courier service applies only for CBD and immediate surrounds (within 2km) but please contact us if you have a more urgent requirement.

    For our customers in non-metro areas we offer both courier and Australia Post express post shipping options to ensure your order arrives as soon as possible.

    Sydney customers may choose our pick-up option from Ultimo - very close to many major datacenters and the CBD. Orders must still be placed via the website if choosing to pick-up your order and a minimum of one hour processing time will be required to have your order ready for pick-up.

    What payment methods are available?

    Pay using our secure online checkout using major credit cards including VISA, MasterCard and American Express with no card processing fees charged by us. PayPal is also available as a payment option.

    For customers unable to complete purchases online using credit card, RapidOptics may accept purchase orders from selected organisations. Purchase orders can be uploaded during the Checkout process on our website. Please contact us via our Contact form if you have questions on this process. Please note that additional processing time and conditions may be required to process purchase orders.

  • How much stock do you have of a particular item?

    The shopping cart will display "Backorder" if you enter more of a particular item than we have in stock. If you adjust the quantity in the cart, it will also show you the current stock level of that particular item.

    The stock status of items listed on the website is kept up to date and always refers to stock levels stored in Sydney.

    For urgent orders or orders of a larger nature you can contact us via our Contact form for confirmation on stock numbers.

    If you do place an order for which we do not have sufficient stock, we will contact you via email with our expected stock delivery date and give you the option to cancel the order or to proceed with the order.

    How do I know Rapid Optics' products will work with my equipment?

    Our Cisco, Juniper, HPE/Avaya, Aruba and Dell-compatible optical SFP and SFP+ transceivers are coded specifically to be compatible with equipment from the respective vendors. Our generic transceivers work with equipment that doesn't require specific vendor coding.

    We're so confident in our products that we promise you this: If for any reason you are unsatisfied with your purchase, return them within 30 days for a full refund.

    Can you send me a written quote?

    Yes, of course. Please get in touch with us via the contact form with the details of the product codes and quantities that you are after. We will send you a written quote within one business day. Please note that there are longer processing times on purchase orders and manually quoted orders.

    An item I need is showing as "Backorder" or isn't on the website at all..

    Items shown as "Backorder" may slight processing delays of up to two weeks (typically much less).

    For larger quantities or urgent orders it is suggested to contact us via our contact form to our confirm stock levels.

    We are also happy to help you with bulk or customised orders - e.g., XFP, QSFP or other types or brand compatibility of optical transceivers.

  • Tell me more about compatibility of your products?

    All of our fibre patch cables are RoHS compliant and individually quality tested to ensure they meet all applicable quality specifications.

    We offer optical transceiver (SFP and SFP+) copper and fibre optic SFPs encoded for compatibility with the major networking brands - Cisco, Juniper, Dell and HP. The range of products compatible with our SFPs is shown on each product page. Juniper modules are coded for support across EX, SRX, QFX and JX products.

    We also stock generic SFP and SFP+ products - these will generally work with brands that do not require specific encoding. If you're not sure whether your device is compatible with generic coded SFPs, please contact us and we can advise.

    Please check the brand compatibility (e.g., Cisco, HP, Dell, Juniper or Generic) when placing your order.

  • Do you provide an Australian warranty on your products?

    Yes, of course. We are so confident in the quality and reliability of all of our products that we offer a 3 year warranty in addition to our 30 Day money back guarantee and statuatory rights.
